For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21

The verse above says it all.

Paul talks about Christ as the center of our lives and as we walk this pilgrimage to the promised land people should see Christ in us and not our own desires. The Christian life is not a life filled with worldly pleasures. Not to say we can not enjoy a good hike, that wonderful apple pie, or time with friends and family. It just means that our life is not to be lived for ourselves and our comforts. Not to focus on our wants and needs. When we put Christ first and He is our all in all (Colossians 3:11) then we will truly find happiness. The Bible says the following…

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
1 Timothy 6:7-11

Once we meet the requirements of having food and clothing we should be content with ourselves and delight in His Word (Psalm 1). Lets strive to not be lovers of this world but lovers of things to come (1 John 2:15) and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).

Let us live a slow simple life of contentment and joy in our Saviour and His New Covenant.

I hope this site brings glory to our Lord and that I can help others find that simple and lightly (Matthew 11:28) burdened life in Christ.
